Cool My first post ,,

Hi,

My 2021 Camaro arrived yesterday ,, what a nice vehicle, I chose the 1LT with the six cylinder engine and there are plenty of practical options.

I am questioning as to why I paid a thousand dollars for a " Premium Infotainment Package " that doesn't have sat. nav.

Also what's the procedure for installing front license plates ?

Thanks,

Stay cool,

Welcome

I believe it is the 8" instead of the 7" screen and the Bose Audio system

there are brackets available to mount the plate that swivel up to hide the plate for car shows.im guessing you dont want holes in your new bumper...

Welcome and congrats!

Not sure if license plate is the same as mine, but on my SS, the factory plate mount was in my trunk.
It attaches simply by clips that "clamp" it to the grill. Easily removable if needed, no holes drilled anywhere.

Congratulations on your score

Navigation is always a separate option in GM cars, but the Waze+Android Auto/Apple CarPlay lover crowd will soon be here to tell you it would've been a total waste of money anyway That said, since yours is a 2021, you're supposed to have wireless AA/CarPlay support, which is very nice, it will serve you perfectly well, provided there is 4G/LTE coverage everywhere you go.

Bracket for front plate ,,

I stopped in at the Chev. dealership asking about mounting the front license plate on my new Camaro.

The parts guy showed me ( in a photo ) a small plastic bracket. They didn't have one in stock but would order one ,, $ 89.77 tax in ,,, really ??

Seems to me drilling a couple of holes in the front bumper and attaching the license plate frame would be no big deal, a hell of a lot cheaper.

By the way ,, does anyone know what " Lustershine " is ??

Thanks.

"Lustershine" is one of those infamous ripoff dealership add-ons, probably some kind of paint treatment that you'd never want to be applied by a dealership even if it were legit. Unfortunately you've been had on that one.

The license plate bracket is supposed to be dealer installed, and a new one costs about US$20-30 from GM.

On a much more positive note, your car looks absolutely great

  • With the 8" screen, your upgraded infotainment package forces you to add Bose, a Technology Package, and SiriusXM trial... Oh wait, now I see the Technology Package sitting under the Packages tab - this is Bose, 8" screen, and SiriusXM - derp, I checked there first.
  • "Lustershine" is part of the "Dealer Revenue Enhancement Package".
  • Like everyone is saying, use wireless Car Play/Android Auto to get your nav - I do, and I have Chevy Nav!
  • Congrats on the new wheels!
