AFAIK:

Picked - The vehicle has been selected along with other vehicles to form a load

Paired - The load that the vehicle is part of has been paired with a transporter and is on the schedule.

Typical status progression: On Hold/ASN >> Picked >> Paired >> Dispatched >> Delivered

Note that all of this data reflects transportation provided by JACK COOPER TRANSPORT only. If the vehicle needs to move via rail, JCT will lose sight of it once they drop it at the rail yard. (Their work is done...)

an update to one of the vins I'm tracking it has an updated bayed status as of 08/02/21 and for vehicle status shows on hold

what's bayed actually mean

Thanks for the link. My vin info produced info that said Delivered to New Boston, Michigan. Do you think that is where it is waiting to be loaded on a train?

EVERY time the vehicle is moved to a new parking spot, even it is is still at the plant, it shows a bayed status. The Bayed Date is date it was parked in it's current location.

Thanks very much for the info. Very interesting. I thought I’d call the TDSI folks in new Boston MI and see if they can/would provide any more info as to the status. Who does the dealer get their information from as to the status? Is the next step for the dealer that the car shows up at their dealership and they call you the next day? In today’s technological society, I can’t imagine they don’t know exactly where the car is on a daily basis. Most customers may not care about following the weekly updates as to the car status. But for the few of us that would like to follow the progress, there must be information available for tracking the car’s status. Interesting situation.
