Is your camaro automatic or 6 speed and why ?

I don't hate on automatics but I have a rule I go with a 6 speed in cars and a automatic in trucks. Im sure this question is asked so much I don't expect any replys =)

M6 because I simply prefer to row my own. I find automatics boring to drive.

Also, both are technically 6 speeds. might want to change the title slightly.

M6. Why? Because IMO there's no point in buying a muscle car in an automatic. Kinda defeats the purpose. But to each their own.

Automatic. That is what works for us. Perhaps if we would've bought our Camaro to strictly drag race it might have been a manual.

M6 BECAUSE IT'S FUN TO DRIVE!!!!!!!
Shifting and turning. Going through the gears. Shit listen to Rush. Red Barchetta. That song makes you feel why!!!!!!! Or you go the other route to Zeppelin's Trampled underfoot. Trouble free transmission.

Personal choice for me M6. Automatic sports cars just don't seem as fun to drive. If I was buying for a dedicated drag car I would have bought a auto (more consistent) but I bought my car to drive more than race.

I had to buy an auto for two reasons.

My daily commute of five miles to work and five miles home each day takes 30 minutes any time of day because it is ALL stop and go traffic, literally: you cant get the car into third gear until you turn into my neighborhood...

Normally, I would never let that be an issue, I'd just buy the manual trans car, but my left knee is shot, and wouldn't take working the clutch like that... I wish I had bought a manual LS3 car, and just not driven it to work, because while I actually like the auto transmission in my SS, I just cant begin to drink the koolaid regarding the alleged performance of the L99 saddled with AFM... if the auto SS came with LS3, Id keep this car forever.

Good news is I just paid off the 2012 SS and it only has 12.5k miles on it, so in a couple of months Im either gonna spend some bucks (headers/tune) and banish the AFM, or find what I really want, an IOM '13 ZL1 w/manual trans...

Yeah... same question here. What is the purpose of owning a "muscle car"? For the power (muscle), I would assume. Power equates to speed, and autos are faster.

To answer OP's question: I have BOTH... a six-speed automatic. And I have it because I've owned manual shift cars for the better part of 45 years and my left knee is tired of clutching. (Plus, did I mention, the autos are faster?)
