Questions on M6 to a 4L80E swap?

Well fellas my M6 tranny is on its last leg and that puts me in the market for a strong transmission, specifically the 4L80E. I wanting to know on the job itself. How difficult is it? What changes need to be made. What challenges were you faced with? Any and all info will be much appreciated. Pics would be VERY appreciated also. Diet coke made a thread a while back but all pics have been deleted. Another thing that concerns me is cost. Well I'm all ears thanks in advanced.

Diet's pics are gone for good. I am in the middle of the swap right now, I have IM'd back and forth with Diet a few times. so far, things are pretty straightforward. My progress is pretty slow though! I am almost done rebuilding the 4L80E. I have the trans cooler in and the fan wired up. I also have the console out and the seats out.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Get a triple disc lockup converter and lockup wot. You can have your roll races too. It would be the same top speed as your 4th gear now.

You wont regret it. Its not too difficult to make the swap either and get you a good trans controller like the PTS 2000.

Well I finally committed to the 4l80E swap. I called up RPM and placed my order. It will take a few weeks to receive it.

Good deal! I test fit mine for the first time yesterday. You definitely need to cut the frame. Ill add a pic later if you'd like.

I would just wire in a t42 trans controller so you have factory control.

Just jump the wiring and make it full manual.

I agree. Manual valve body is the only way to go especially if you are FI.

I drive on the interstate too much for a MV. They create a touch more heat than a stock one up on the hwy
