Anyone modify the intake manifold?

Hey guys,

Once I took off the heat shield, i noticed the composite intake manifold. Looking too industrial for me, i'd like to shave down the high spots and paint to look aluminum.

My question is this, I'm not finding it done so "has anyone done this?" Did it work?
I'm used to old school big blocks and small blocks, so the LFX engine is all new to me.

Someone filled in all of the spaces as opposed to grinding down the high spots - probably safer this way as those high spots are probably there for strength/rigidity. Maybe do a search on this forum to find the thread.

I think the ribbed sections are for strength since it's made out of cheap plastic. I wouldn't grind on them if you don't have to.

Yeah, that’d be bad.

I guess I’ll focus on polishing the valve covers, and other aluminum pieces for beautification.

I had my intake ported after the headers were installed. Dynoed at 414/rwhp after that. Then a year later I installed the S/C and sold the intake.
