DSX is also coming out with a low side tank pump and Port Injection kit. Word is this PI setup triggers off of the factory DI injection window and can be controlled through HP tuners.

Would this be considered a surge tank which it would help with fuel starvation with a low tank during turns for road course use?

Now THIS is a development I'd be keen to hear more about.

In the land of Oz where there's either E10 or E85 (very hard to find) then we are stuck with needing fuel from our Premium 98 (equal to US 93 octane), and obviously at higher power outputs, we need plenty of it.

The question I have is, what has to be done to the high side pump to run these supplementary port injection kits? Is it a LT4 pump with cam and +% fuel lobe?

Holy cow…sounds like the Holy Grail to me! If I’m lucky his new setup will control my Fore triple pumps too…

You don’t have to do anything at all to the high side in order to run port injection. Port injection runs off low pressure so you just need to make sure the low side is big enough to supply both the PI plus the existing DI. Check out what Laynlo15 has been doing…stock DI with TooHighPSI port has put him into the 9’s.

There is an old GM engineer that is helping make the programming for the port injection controller. There will also be a setting for wideband correction factor. It sounded like the ordeal was about a year from completion. Finishing the control board and waiting on HPTuners to allow them to talk to each other. Supposed to even have a "Valve Cleaning Mode" where the PI will turn on while cruising to help clean the valves.

Dave is a creative dude! That will change the PI game if he makes it happen.

Josh is correct, I've run 9.86@142 on stock Lt1 motor, stock Lt1 fuel system, I did add Jms voltage booster but nothing else as far as fueling. We've actually lowered the HPFP and the low side psi as it doesn't need to be so high with the THPSI port injection. We will have to do a better low side just to make sure we don't run out of fuel as we try to go faster but still safely. We are running about E65 to E70 with this setup. We are going back out this weekend for a TNT with an unlocked A10 this time, we ran all last fall with a locked A10 which was affecting our launches and 60ft times.

The point of port injection is to supplement the high side fuel system so you don't need to upgrade any of the DI system. With PI you could take an internally stock LT4 over 800whp without touching anything inside the engine. The LT's biggest hurdle is being fuel system and octane limited. The stock heads/cam/bottom end are robust enough to support a lot more power over stock with enough fuel and octane. Port injection, low side, ported blower, flex fuel, E85, 16psi of boost, and headers, should hit 800whp without much issue.

This is awesome. I love the stuff that Dave has been doing lately. I see he's playing in the Lambo and R8 world now, too.
