Range vs Trifecta
Hello - I'm trying to decide what should be a better option for me. I have a 17 Camaro V6 and I mainly want to get rid of the AFM.
Option 1: Buy the Range device, the downside of that is that I always have the Torque App connected to the OBD2 for live data during the driving time. Not sure if an Amazon OBD2 splitter could work with both devices. Option 2: Buy the Trifecta tune for overall better drivability of the car including the AFM delete and leaving the OBD2 port free for the Torque App. I'm planning on keeping the car stock. Let me know what do you think. Thanks |

If you get a trifecta tune they disable the afm. So no need for the range, I had the range in my silverado but took it out because any long trips that thing go HOT as hell. But if you go to any local tuning shops they might be able to just disable it

Trifecta's been in the game a long time and does good work IMHO.

trifecta let's you live toggle afm based on drive mode. sport== off. touring == on.
getting rid of it entirely doesn't make a lot of sense. it saves gas on long trips and nobody is going to hear or care if you're in v4 mode while driving 80mph give yourself the flexibility and go trifecta. the trans tune is worth it on its own if they offer that for your year (they do for 2016) |

Does anyone know if the Range keeps the AFM valves open all the time since the engine is now in constant V8 mode? It wouldn't make any sense for them to still be opening an closing? The Phastek website says that Range does not control the valves, but I'm not hearing the valves anymore after installing.
Apologies for going off topic here. Last edited by SSShark; 10-06-2023 at 09:48 AM. |
