Hopefully, a few of you will come through my town instead of taking interstate 57 into champaign. Thought the power tour did not like to do interstates. It would be way better if it came down 47 through mahomet then the back way to parkland college in champaign. A lot less lights and traffic. I live about 10 minutes away from parkland college so getting excited for sunday.

I registered this morning. The very first car I saw was my very first brand new car. A Blue 1978 Z28 Camaro with a 4 speed. Then I saw my first dream car a 1969 AMC AMX with a 390 and a 4 speed, damn this was just getting registered. This is going to be fantastic. The only bad news of the day is, due to car problems my nephew will not be making even the first 2 days he was planning to do.

Think that's a possibility. Any suggestions for dinner somewhere between Champaign and Gibson City?

No, probably not. Last time they didn't allow manual transmissions

It's game day! 2 more hours until my Co-pilots bus gets in from St. Louis. Can't wait to get on the road.

Only town between the two is fisher if you are driving on 47. Not much there. Mahomet which is just west of champaign has 2 spots to eat the wingery and jt walkers. Gibson city has a German restaurant that is supposed to be really good. Never ate there though.

We stopped by and saw this today, and while we were there they fired it up. It not only looks great, but it sounds fantastic.

Also ran into a few guys from Camaro5, was great chatting with them.

Just got back to the hotel, we were out watching everyone cruise down Washington. What an awesome first day. I am burnt to a crisp and exhausted. But couldn't have asked for more. Tomorrow we are thinking about stopping at the New Glarus brewery for a free tour. Then on to Champaign. Hope everyone is having just as much fun.
