I'm also going to agree that stock for stock the 1LE does not outperform the ZL1 nor the Z28 obviously. It outperforms the regular SS and lesser trims... but it continues to be the entry-level trim towards the track inspired Camaro's.

The 2017 1LE beat the Z28 at Leguna Seca when tested by Motor Trend.

The 5th gen 1LE isn’t an entry level track car. It’s a track car. It outperforms cars above its price point. The lesser trims mights as well be a different car.

It appears that we have strayed into the realm of subjectivity on this thread. I'll add my $.02.

Speaking only of the 5th Gen Camaro:
Z/28: 505hp--It has one purpose and one purpose only...a full-blown track weapon, produced to slay road courses.
ZL1: 580hp--A jack of all trades. Run 11's at the strip (bone stock) or tear it around a road course, albeit not quite as fast as the Z/28.
SS 1LE: 426hp--An impressive track package that can be added to the SS trim. (3.91 rear, ZL1 toe links, wheel bearings and shock mounts, 285 width GY Eagle Supercar G2 tires, 20 x 10 front & 20 x 11 ZL1 wheels)
