Why no head to head yet?

When the s550 came out there was a head to head real quick, but it lost to the old Camaro platform. Yet the 2016 Camaro has been out almost a year, and still no head to head. Is Ford not sending a car knowing how bad the outcome could be?

I see lots of head to heads!
Or do you mean some kind of official manufacturer head to head?

I think he is referring to the motor trend head to head comparison videos. I'm not sure if you seen the one where they put the 2016 Camaro up against the bmw m4, but they basically said the Camaro was too good and didn't match up with the mustang. so they put it up against a m4. It's a great video!

If you are speaking about MT H2H, they clearly stated the Camaro is no longer in the same league as the Mustang and it was pointless to test what they already knew, every performance metric has the Camaro with a superior lead. So they instead put the Camaro up against what was the benchmark for a sports car with 2 doors and a backseat, the M4.

Now they did do a back to back review.

Saw the head to head, but don't remember hearing the mustang was not in same league. It would still be nice to see a good but woopen.

"We named the sixth-gen Camaro our 2016 Car of the Year. That’s the highest praise we can give a vehicle. I remember sitting around after the vote with my fellow judges expressing the following sentiment: “Forget Mustang and Challenger. The Camaro now competes with BMW and Audi.” We proved that just days later when the new Camaro beat the Mustang GT in a Head 2 Head."

Don't remember the exact words on the video, but it was essentially the same.

Have we seen track times yet? I think I saw one, but can't remember any others.

That article above has the times. The 6th gen was a tiny bit slower than the 5th gen 1LE. Pretty impressive for the base SS on RFT tires!

The times have been posted. The mustang is about a second slower around Willow springs. so no, not really a whole new league lol. I mean sure its faster but it has better tires as well. the pirellies are garbage even compared to the runflats, they are still eagle F1's

The Scat Pack is roughly the same difference in lap times compared to the '15 Mustang GT PP. You don't consider it in the same league of track performance do you? I know I don't. 1 sec on a 1.6 mile track is not a small difference. Granted it's not like the difference in times between a C7 ZO6 and Miata.

This is hilarious.. I remember when specs were announced for the Camaro and the Mustang boys were talking crap about the brake size and the run flat tires... But now they go on about how the run flats are better than the Pirellis on the GT PP.. Lolol

Don't forget the golden ratio and dedicated chassis/engine.

According to the evidence, yes. It doesnt matter if it feels like a boat or weighs more. The facts are the facts. It is tested to be pretty close in performance to the rest of the muscle cars. and yes its not a small difference but i wouldn't put 1 sec in a different league. why would you?
