But we have seen an option for the six piston setup on the new Camaro ordering guide. Part of a heavy duty brake package.

The question is how much more money and weight do they add?

I think they where talking about the car being 198 lbs lighter not just the brakes. I though you where just messing with me the first time I read your reply.

If I don't plan on autocrossing or tracking my 6th Gen(maybe we once or twice) there's no need to get the 6 piston then huh? And save me some weight and money? I only plan on taking it to the drag strip occasionally.

Are you sure about that? Everything I see shows it as an LPO option which are installed in the assembly line. Just like the NPP exhaust, recaro seats, etc on the gen5. LPO pricing a supposed to be released this week but I have t seen it so it will hopefully be soon. Gam has not released the performance catalog that usually come out later and brakes are available now.

Camaro lt upgrade

Was wondering if the rear wheel spindles from an ss will fit the lt?
Reason is the Brembo caliper /parking brake incompatibility
Was thinking of switching out the spindle, hubs etc so that the ss parking brake would now be on the lt
Obviously there would be more to it but that would be the majority of the solution
Just would have to figure out the actuator or a manual cable pull

The bigger issue will be integrating the change electronically. You can't just throw a manual pull cable on it because the electric park brake is an integrated part of the brake controller. Simply unplugging the motors will cause faults, and leaving the motors hanging will cause faults the first time the park brake tries to apply.

To properly use the SS style of park brake, you'd need to modify your wiring harness to connect the center-mounted park brake motor to the brake control module and then flash the brake control module with the correct software/calibration so it not only runs without setting faults since only one motor is connected, but also has the correct calibrations to apply the right amount of cable tension to achieve the desired park brake torque since that's different between the cable-pull setup and the motors being on the calipers.
