I ordered the splash guards on Monday. $144 with free shipping. But then there's a $16 handling fee tacked on??? They tell you free shipping, but it's really not, they're charging $16....."handling". At any rate, $160 total is still a pretty good price, just don't like how the pricing is stated. Don't bs me saying shipping is free.

Use them where they are useful and know how their system operates.

I have had 5-6 orders with them with no problems, no return attempts.

Research, research, research!

Just an amusing observation...

I frequent several forums (i.e.- Diesel Place, Corvette Forum, Delphi Forums, etc...) unfortunatley there are always a few members that enjoy posting negative/smart a$$ responses. I guess it's easy to be that way while sitting behind the computer. I guess it gives us something to post about, just my observation.

Haven't had a good experiance with GM Parts Direct either with any of our cars.
Ordered two different part numbers for some roof rails for our Monte SS.
Showed they were in stock and they sent two of the same thing. Trouble was they were not universal.

They sent a e-mail saying they were out of one side and were out of production.
Wrote them a e-mail for a return. Replied a few days later.
Then charged me a restocking fee and said they would credit my credit card.

Never seen the credit on my account after many inquiries to them.

So beware!
Sometimes there good for newer parts & prices but I won't deal with them again!

Dispute your credit card charge, that will get their attention!

To keep their pricing they have requires some rules.

Takes manpower to handle restocks, paperwork and such. Not to mention what the seller has to pay to the card companies. Thier fee sounds reasonable.

Next time..... no every time before you purchase something, take the time to look around first.

Well, I guess that is the cost of doing business. They have chosen to adopt policies that alienate customers. There are plenty of business models that value their customers and encourage repeat business. I'm not goin back. Done with gmpartsdirect. I wouldn't mind paying even a 20% restock fee, but to make it a $20 minimum is a ripoff!

i would keep the OE locks, and return the gorilla locks.

IMHO... and i have valid proof considering i worked at a tire shop for 5 years and dealt with gorilla locks... the OE locks are a far better quality lock. you DO NOT need a separate lock for each lug, that is just retarded

one per wheel is enough to keep burgulars away... you literally have to hammer a socket onto the lug and break the lock off to achieve victory... and a loud burgular is a dumb burgular

i have the OE locks on my car and am very satisfied with how they compare to the cheapo locks i've dealt with at my previous job!
