Delivery time once VIN assigned

I purchased a 2023 2lt convertible with the V6 and upgraded exhaust a few weeks ago. At that time they already had a VIN assigned and advised car should come in any day. My question is how long have people been waiting once they got a VIN. I am in Toronto Canada as i assume there may be a difference between Canada and US delivery times

Hoping to get the top down at least once this season

I am sure you will get a better answer but I just got off the phone with a dealer that has a car with vin and built waiting on transport, he said it could be weeks. I think he said 3-4 weeks once on the train to the southeast.

Delivery is calculated based on how many parsecs you are from earth. Current delivery times are ranging from tomorrow to 2054. Thats for a 2022 model year. Add a millennium to that for a 2023. Unless of course you know someone or you win the GM delivery sweepstakes.

Mine is built with a VIN and waiting for shipping (not waiting on any parts). I expect to wait 5-7 weeks if I'm lucky and up to 12 weeks if I'm not lucky.

Over on the Silverado forums, some users have been waiting nearly 3 months after the build was confirmed.

If you're lucky, your interior will see snow.

Thanks. Mine was apparently in transit as well and the sales guy keeps telling me a few weeks but based on everyones experience it sounds more like a few months if I'm lucky

During the height of the chip shortage, people waited 6-9 months after getting a VIN.

I guess I was lucky after I got my VIN# they trailered it over in 2weeks to me in northern Il. The dealer said 3 mts. but forgot it doesn't have to sit in a railyard for a train going my way. Right now, as you watch trains go by you just don't see many car haulers on the rails. Lots of grain and lumber cars though.

I think that we're seeing the VIN doesn't even mean it's complete or built, but off the assembly line at least. YOu need to post in the order status thread the VIN and/or your sales person can use VinView and get more details, some details, any way. But yeahif your 3800/Built...up to 60 days isn't outside the realm.

Just got an ETA of 9/13 from my dealer, which is MUCH sooner than I expected.

VIN just means the factory has allocated it. It may not be off the assembly line. It may be in parts.

Typical wait for ordering a car is 2-4 months in good times IME. These times can be more like 6 and in some extreme situations people are waiting more than a year for some, especially higher end stuff like Porsche, Mercedes...
