Can you take a closer picture of the fans sticker maybe we can find something with the model number.

Blue Pin is PWM most likely and the voltage we saw could have just been an average value. What's weird from the video as duty cycle went up the fan slowed down which is opposite from lets say computer fans with the PWM Pin.

Well if we think about it the ZL1, 1LE..etc are not exactly high volume sellers so GM might buy the same seat bases but upholster them differently.

BTW you guys are my heros! HAHA! Can't wait till you get this all sorted out.

I'm still interested in getting the heater working too, but I can wait awhile before that gets sorted out.

Has that been confirmed?

+1 to this. I have yet to see a confirmation, just speculation. Would be nice to have that bad boy pump in there though.

I know it may be much harder to dig the heater pads out of there (if they are there), that's why I think if I can get with F1FTY on Saturday and remove the passenger seat from my car and hook it up in his that should be the full proof of concept (if it works of course) for both heating and cooling!

Sounds like a solid plan !!! Thanks for the effort

Once you guys meet try documenting and upload the video on youtube.

If incase it doesn't work out the electric gurus might be able to point out something. If it does work, they can google the 2SS wiring diagram and that would be a critical step for them to to move forward and make the 1SS seat's vent system to work.

The switch would be supplied with 12v and the volts would be send determined by the speed setting. Each wire on the fan would be a different voltage. Sometimes it can be a closed loop system where only volts need to be send, some need info to be sent back to complete the loop and operate.
Edit: what type of car did you try this on where it worked?
I'll grab that diagram and see what I see.
Her car was a 2013 GMC Acadia Denali, it uses a different type as hers are actually cooled seats. She has way more wire but it worked across the black, blue, and red/white stripe.

Thanks can read it now and BINGO!

Its an off the shelf part

https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...373-ND/2560497

PG 7(PDF PG 8) shows some wiring information.
http://www.delta-fan.com/Download/Sp...712HH-AF00.pdf

It also cautions to not to let the blue wire touch the Red or Black wires. (Positive or negative)

We are going to need someone with electrical knowledge to chime in.

Wow, looks promising! My wife's only complaint is that my 1LE doesn't have heated seats. Sub'd for results.

Lots of great research here guys. Keep it up! I would be perfectly fine with a seat mounted control. Lets keep it simple.

Can someone swap a 1LE passenger seat into a Zl1 maybe? If you can multi-meter the pins on a zl1 as you toggle through heated and cooled stages we could find out what the pin outs are..

If you go to the performance catalog and look up the Recaros.
There is NO option to buy heated/cooled seats vs. Non-heated / cooled.

The only option is Memory vs. non Memory.

So it seems all the seats are the same. It is whether or not they are hooked up or wired to work.

Good find. It is as I suspected after skimming through the thread. The motor is brushless so it will need a speed controller I think. I am more familiar with this from a RC hobby perspective, but happen to have a very small brushless controller laying around that I can use. The controller itself is just for the motor, it still has a +/- input as well as a control input to tell it how fast to spin the motor. This is all either built into the cars system somewhere else, or part of it is in the seat with the motor.

I'm not in a position to pull my seat out and look right now, but if I get some time before I travel for work next week I will look/try to hook up a rig with one of my controllers and see what I can do.
