Faulty driver door handle button?

Anyone else experience this issue? Lock/unlock button intermittently working, if not working at all when pushed?

First time around I had the dealer fix it. They cleaned the inside and it worked well for the first couple months but now has slowly gotten worse and with this cold weather, seems to ultimately not work at all.

Going to ask for just a full replace of the button or whatever seems to be faulty.

Never had an issue with mine, and I use it religiously since it's easier then getting the fob out.

Exactly.

This isn't some normal wear and tear so I don't see why they wouldn't replace it for me. Car is practically still new.

No issues with mine, my car is new (1 month), I use it regularly and haven't had any issues

I had the same problem, it had completely stopped working.

Dealer replaced it with a new one.

I found in the winter that, after washing, if I didn't blow the water out of the button before heading outside it'd freeze solid and become non-functional. The button annoys me though. How hard would it have been to integrate the button into the door latch mechanism so just pulling on the handle unlocked the car.

While I'm complaining why can't the passenger unlock the car if I'm in the the vicinity with the key fob? It's annoying to have to go unlock the door for them if I'm just putting something in the trunk.

Finally why does opening the passenger door cut the accessory power? My passengers always to be in such a hurry to get out and then I have to turn the car back on just to close the sunroof.

This is hysterical. What you push touches a momentary contact microswitch. While it is possible to open these and clean the contacts, it is something only worth doing if there is some kind of unique configuration. No way the dealer cleaned anything that mattered. You could solder a new microswitch in, but the dealer will replace the whole module instead.
Note the cost of the part involved, about $0.04!

The other thing worth checking is the main wiring harness connection in the door jamb. Sometimes that is not as waterproof as one might hope. You can disconnect it and take a look. Sometimes just reseating the main harness solves this kind of intermittent electrical problem with door electronics.

My passenger side door button doesn't seem to work at all. I thought it was a setting I was missing, if this is the case I'd imagine getting another handle and replacing the parts should fix the issue. Unless the harness is causing the issue.

My passenger side works but the driver side has no function.
I disconnected the battery and tried again but still the same problem.

I will have to drive 400km to my dealer to check it.

Does anyone know a part number for the button itself? My passenger side isn’t working and I think the car is just out of warranty.
