Maximum HP Without Internal Mods
Hello Everyone
I was just wondering...has anyone tried unlimited mods without going in the motor(no camshaft change). Porting the blower/snout, pulleys, heat exchanger, headers/exhaust, injectors, E85, Throttle Body, CAI etc. At some point, I would imagine the stock camshaft will be limiting the ROI(hp). Thanks, Ed |

The White ZL1 that was for sale earlier this year was 630 with stock cam and stock blower,...so I would have to believe with a real aggressive tune and a ported blower a fella could get to almost 700,...then of course you could always spray the guts out of it

Good thread
I've had the same idea in my head for months. I have classic basic adjustments in the form of CAI, high flow cats, headers, exhaust and tune. I also plan to ported throttle body and new tune. Then I have to figure out what the next mod will be. ...bigger injectors with a better fuel pump, more powerful ignition ...? I bought a nice book so I'll see what I find out. https://www.amazon.com/Camaro-5th-Ge.../dp/1613251637 |

I'm at 698.72 RWHP and 740.68 RWTQ with essentially the mods in my sig. Haven't had a chance to run it at the track yet since converting to E85. That was worth almost 100 RWHP by itself.

And those are in the Dodge Demon power territory without even going into the motor :
Demon Dyno 91-octane 722.91 horsepower and 647.65 pound-feet of torque 100-octane 749.03 hp and 692.31 lb-ft of torque https://www.hagerty.com/media/archiv...n-on-the-dyno/ Another point is that it's easy and cheap to have it always full of e85 but a person might not have availability and $ to run 100 octane always. Yes a Hellcat or Demon owner could turn up the power also but they are already starting out spending many thousands more on the stock vehicle. Dodge Demon price is $84,995 MSRP new. |

With E85 and all the bolt ons you can get to 700rwhp. A cam won't add big power like it would to an N/A motor. The biggest advantage to having a cam is that it will add some power while lowering your boost....so you can pulley it a bit harder. We finished up an LSA build the other day that made 685rwhp with no cam. |
