The infrastructure issue becomes much easier to tackle as you just need to put one every couple hundred miles at a truck stop. There is tons of space to put the fuel tanks. The weight of the system should be comparable to that of a diesel powertrain (vs an electric semi that would be almost entirely battery to go any distance). Since fuel cells are electric drive you get the low rpm torque that a huge heavy truck needs. And as an added bonus, there is no need for an APU to power things while the truck is stopped.

Its as close to an ideal pairing as I can think of.
The other alternative that works in favor of fuel cells is setting up dedicated refueling at A-B terminals. That's probably why 800 trucks instead of 100. They are probably specced to make a dedicated delivery circuit with refueling happening at their own terminals or terminals operated by a provider that is building them to A-B needs.

Hadn't thought of that. Thats an even easier way to get things started for hydrogen. Everything can be setup piecemeal by/for individual fleet operators (like Budweiser). If it catches on, a sparse network along the interstate can be started and then filled in until its commonplace. Which, I think is pretty much how things have gone with natural gas. LNG isn't everywhere, but I think its common enough now that the logistics of accessing the fuel isn't a big issue.

I'm curious how Tesla knew that the car was not in autopilot. Do they monitor every car, or was it a quick jump to defense of their system? I'm positive they won't get any info from any system in the car now.

Even if its non-refundable, they got more than their moneys worth in good PR out of it. 'See how hip and green we are? We're buying Teslas'

I thought I also read somewhere else in the last few days that Tesla has had to put up one of their factories as collateral on one of their existing or new loans.

Yup, their only assembly plant is now collateral.

Good thing Musk says they have no need to raise any capital, because normally you don't go about pawning things off when you don't need cash. Must be doing this just for the fun of it.
