Not a mistaken case here but somewhat related:
Last fall I took my good friend's 10 y/o boy for a spin in the car. He had a grin for the rest of the day. Loved it! His father called few weeks later with this story. Their neighbor had bought a decked out Tesla and showed them the car. Invited the 10 y/o to sit in it and proudly asked him if has been in a car this nice before. The boy didn't hesitate a second and responded, "uh yeah, I've been in a 1le Camaro!". The Tesla owner was so embarrassed...I got a great laugh out of that. On another note, I've pulled up to a nice hotel and the valet didn't even offer to park it (not that I'd care to let him). They had number of 6 fugure cars parked upfront, so he clearly recognized it is not in the same league |

I get this at least once a week... I 100% think it’s the whole 1LE thing that confuses them.

My 70 year old Dad visiting from the UK told me the car looks like a cross between the Batmobile and Knight Rider.
It may the coolest thing he's ever said to me! |

This thread cracks me up. "Dude, nice Mustang". Haha. It did always bug me (when I was a Camaro guy) that the old muscle car in movies or shows was almost always a Mustang. I guess it has more recognition than the Camaro. I mean, who hasn't seen Gone in 60 Seconds? Even being a Camaro guy up until recently, I always thought Eleanor was a sweet ride.

I’ve had a couple interesting exchanges. Several times people have asked “What is a Fifty?”. There are no Camaro badges on my car and the fender badge is “Fifty”. Some people thought it was a completely new nameplate.
The funniest one, though, has more to do with my license plate. It’s “ 50 SS “. A Mustang GT driver asked me if Chevrolet had brought back the 5.0L small block. I got a chuckle out of that. Only a Mustang owner would read that as 5 POINT 0.

Looking back I guess I've owned some unique cars over the years. I imagine if you're not a "Car Person" it can be confusing to some.
My VW CC was mistaken for a Benz CLS and my Mazda RX8 was thought to be a Ferrari by this dear lady at Publix. Maybe its been too early to have the Camaro mistaken as I've only had it a month now. Will see what the future holds...

Haha, little kids are cute. My youngest kid was with me when I test drove my GT last fall and was 4 at the time. He asked me after he strapped himself into the car seat I put in the back seat (a requirement for me!) if it was a race car. Since it had been a while since I'd driven a car that powerful I said yes, it basically is. It felt like it to me, coming from my lightly modified 300 hp Speed3.

I’ve had a couple “That’s a Chevy? What kind?” (My car is de-badged except for black bow ties front/rear.). When I tell them it’s a new Camaro, I always get some version of “That’s awesome/gorgeous/looks so mean” and more than a few “Chevy nailed it with that.”
I get lots of thumbs up and several times a week I get some positive comment at a stop light/sign, especially with the top down. Also had a couple of people (one in an SS coupe and one in a BMW M3) ask to about my wheels (MRR FS01’s in brushed silver) and to take pics of them so they could look into getting a set. Love my 18 Vert!
