Hah! Yeah, those cars with the old bias ply tires would be lucky to break into the 14s, but they sure felt fast at the time!

yeah you're in a A10 ZL1, you better be running that quick.

Looks like Oil Man might have matched you're 0-60 though. With his bone stock 2SS! You're going to have to at least beat his time! LOL

I heard those stories so many times in the 80's and 90's from guys telling me my Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes were "not fast". I think most of those guys have died or changed their tune these days as I haven't heard that stuff since the mid-90's.

Most of the now older guys give me nothing but compliments on my 1LE and my Z06. Getting gas often becomes a 30 minute ordeal and a mini-car show/review, but I am always happy to oblige for anyone that is really interested in the cars..
They were fast, but not as fast as the cars today. I just got off the phone with my Bro Inlaw, he owns the 1970 454 LS6 Chevelle he bought new back in 1970. I remember he used to take it to Mission raceway in Canada when I was child. Anyway, he told me his best ever time was a 12.2 @119MPH with 9" wrinkle walls, and headers. Everything else was stock. He took first in B Stock class a couple times with 7" wrinkle walls, but his best time then was 12.7 with the smaller wrinkle walls. He said his car weighed around 3900lbs. I don't know if that include his wt or not.

i think he has a 2ss also, and looking at the speedo this is his 2ss. i think ZL1 speedo goes ro 220?

edit, never mind both go to 200mph, but he does have a 2ss as well.

The big thing with these cars is the amount of time the suspension eats. There rear-end is really really soft. I've got all BMR components (Swaybar kit, end-links, control arms, trailing arms, toe-links and bushings) and I went from mid 4's to mid 3's just like that. Off the dig no wheel-hop, little if any spin, it just plants and goes now without that ass sinking like it used to.

Whats advertised is the very perfect world scenario both with suspension and fuel. In the real world few will see anything under 4.

My best is 4.6 seconds, have only done it about a half dozen times. Completely stock. I was using Track + Race with launch control.

Some of them are stock, most of them are F.A.S.T. class cars that just look stock.

Plus, the reproduction tires are a lot better than the original ones that came on these cars.

That '69 ZL1 flies for sure.
