Reverse water pump or not - how tell?
I will replace my water pump on my Camaro 2012 2SS with L99-engine. Read that two different pumps sells, one regular and one with reverse rotation (counterclockwise). There are no numbers on my old pump. How do I know what to choose?

You could look at which direction you pulley is turning, unless you already have it torn down.

The problem is that my engine is removed and down for restoration. I have this pic:
Wikipedia says: Water pump pulleys running on the inside surface of the belt indicate a Standard Rotation water pump (grooved side of belt). Water pump pulleys running on the outside surface of the belt indicate a Reverse Rotation water pump (flat or smooth side of belt). Any ideas? |

I don't have easy access to my car right now but it looks like all the parts places agree that all three listed on Summit link you posted work. There isn't really much that says the 19207665/251-734 turns a different direction than the other two. It is the one listed on the AC-Delco website as Camaro SS V8 OEM equipment. The 19339913/252-975 is listed for the AC-Delco "professional" series for the same car. The 19337228/252-975 is listed as "professional" series for other GM LS V8 cars including the ZL1. likely all three will work, but might be slight difference in the last with the actual pulley.
If the picture you posted is you car, I'm pretty sure LS cranks turn clockwise, which means the water pump is turning counterclockwise. |

Yes, the picture is my car and according to wiki it should be counterclockwise. Someone, any other opinion?
