Angry Black Aluminum Wheels

I am very sad that I can NOT order the Black Aluminum Wheels with my 3LT package for my new C7 Corvette without paying the extra $$ for the ZR1 package. And why do I need TWO sets of wheels just to get the Crome Wheels. GM must be geting money hungery by takeing advantage of these Additional items. This is not the GM that I am use to doing business with. LP54Vet.

I hear ya. The black wheels are the only reason I'm considering buying the ZR1 package. That's a huge waste of money considering how many other things I'd be paying for. The other things in the package are cool and nice to have but it's nothing that I want to spend extra money on.

I second that. I am in the same boat. I guess I will just have to get black aftermarket wheels. Happy to see that the Z51 style spoiler is available for non Z51 packages.

I believe them mean Z51, but I agree on the option issue.

i'm aware of what they think they're referring to... my point was that they can't even get the naming convention of the package right; they might want to double check how many sets of wheels GM is trying to sell them in what finish.

I've heard so much about the Z/28 lately that I'm surprised I didn't call it the Z/28 package.

I ordered the black rims and I can not find the wheel caps for them on the Accessory list that was leaked. Does anyone know if the automatically come with them or if they'll be a late availability?

The wheels are cool!

The black wheels are on my order!
You don't get two sets of wheels!
Caps are a dealer installed option.

And, the Z-51 package is everything you really want in a car like this! The gearing, the dry sump, the active handling, the Trans cooler, the diff. Cooler, bigger brakes, bigger wheels,... Had enough?

I still dont understand why you would order a 51k car and NOT spend the extra cash for Z51. Even if you dont plan on tracking the car. It's a kin to buying a v6 mustang or camaro. Just a waste.

Z51 makes the car more fun to drive ! Again, all my opinion.

Some might even say it's like buying a Cruze LS when you could have the 1.4L turbo in the LT.

If I have a non-Z51 and if wanted to go the black-colored wheel route like on the Z51-equipped cars, then I would powdercoat the stock rims gloss black.

The Brembo calipers also seem to be the same units on both base & Z51 cars, and the major difference is that the Z51 cars all have upgraded rotors in all four corners with larger sized fronts.

Here is the Z51 (right front) vs. non-Z51 (left front) rotors:

Here is the Z51 (left rear) vs. non-Z51 (left rear) rotors:
