Woo Hoo!!! Let The Perma Grin Begin!!!!
Yes folks I am no longer a lurker in here! I finally went for it and got me a new Camaro!!!!!
I just love this thing! It is a 1LT automatic, Imperial Blue Metalic! At first I was kinda pondering whether or not to get one with RS, but once I saw this car I knew it was the one! I will however be installing the halo lights as an add on but that is pretty much it. I am not a big tire and wheel aficionado so I felt that it really didnt matter to pay all that much more for the RS, I hate leather seats so I went with the cloth interior. I got a really decent deal from the dealer ($1500 below invoice, i got the deal through Truecar.com.....check them out if you are buying a car). The only extras I got with the car was tinted windows (35%and legal here in Georgia) nitrogen charged tires (why? dont ask me, I dont know lol, the car just had it already), connectivity package (which is nice) door edge guards, and a few other odds and ends. When the deal was just about finished up I got them to throw/add in the heritage grill!!! I am so stoked!!! Ya I tried out an SS and loved it, it was a beast, but i have tried the V6 and felt that it was way more than enough power for me, heck I was used to having a 68 Camaro that only had 270 hp, so 323 hp in this actually feels a lot stronger than my old 68. Ya I really miss the 68 but times got really tough a few years ago and I was forced to sell it, and since then I was promised that I WILL be getting one of the new ones one day soon. This car is the perfect mix, I feel I got a good deal and I didn't just settle, I will be putting a lot of miles on this beast that I used to put on my Avalanche but I will be getting about twice the gas mileage savings that thing burned. My wife has been driving it quite a bit today(I actually like it when she drives, she is a way better driver than me) even though it is going to technically be my car(she drives a Monte Carlo 2004 Supercharged Dale Jr signature series, that thing is a beast also although my new Camaro would walk all over it in a head to head race) Once my wife first punched the gas pedal in this thing.....SHE WAS HOOKED!!! the first thing she announced was"NOW I JUST GOT TO GET ME ONE OF THESE THINGS!!!!" ........So..........now I am starting to figure out just how we can get her one! This car was way more comfortable and useable than the MOnte Carlo even thought he MC is fully loaded. We learned many things from owning the MC and knew what we were looking for in the Camaro. Well without further suspense here are some images from this morning, I will post more pics with the heritage grill installed and will also post a personal review of this little beauty. Now........time to change my handle in here~

For now I really dont have any modding plans, just cosmetic if any, like I said before I have the heritage grill coming in the next few weeks, and maybe down the road I might put the halo lights in but this lights are growing on me, I actually like how bright they are at night.
This car will be a runner and will be doing lots of miles so I really dont think there will be too many mods just yet.

2011DropTop, CONGRATS, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

I also feel the car has a nice clean smooth look to it without the badges, and like you say it helps the actual design and car stand out more. I am not a badge type of guy, I probably would have removed the badges if it were an SS or RS, dont get me wrong tho I am not hating on them, it is just not my cup of tea, its like with rims and tires with me..... I actually couldn't stant the steelies on the IBM, but they actually look good on other colors, so with the 1LT package I got some nice decent looking tires and rims on my car, I also thought about future tire purchases and I imagine the the tires for the larger rims are most likely more expensive than the ones on my car, they look nice but once again not worth the money IMHO. I am a "happy Medium " kind of person and I feel I have found just the right balance. Now.......if only I can figure out all these bells and whistles on this dang thing.
