Chevy OEM 1LE "Track" alignment.
Heya fella's.
Quick and easy question...well, I hope its easy. Ive tracked my Camaro once now and ive noticed that the outside edges of the tires are wearing pretty significantly. Im about to head to the track tomorrow SO i figured I would do the last minute thing like I always do and try to get an alignment to either promote better tire wear (more even) or to make the car handle better. I will openly admit I dont know the first thing about what a difference in Camber will make when it comes to how the car will respond differently. The Tech at chevy said that there were three factory alignment profiles available to them. A ZL1 track profile an SS1LE track profile and a 1LE profile. I have no clue what the individual specifications are for each of them but the dealer said that the 1 LE spec was the least aggressive. Im wondering if perhaps that is the factory spec? Long story short, they said that I could bring in my own alignment specs and they would align the car to those numbers. I still drive the car on the street although it is NOT a daily. Id like something that will promote even tire wear but still give me an "improvement" on the track. Any suggestions fella's? Im looking for a good place to start. |

Bring your Camaro Performance Supplement with you, it's on Page 18. The SS 1LE "track alignment" is what you want. -2.0° front and -1.5° rear camber. That's reasonable for the track but not overly aggressive for street. IMO it's good "fast street" camber settings. If you really get into track days then you'll want even more camber, especially in front, however the street tire wear and tramlining will get noticeable.

Thanks for posting that. My 2017 Camaro SS did not come with that for some reason.

Done deal.
Had it performed at the dealership this morning. Cost was 100.00 buckaroo's. The results on the track this evening were impressive. The car stuck to the road like glue and went wherever I pointed it without complaint. Awesome, awesome, awesome. |

The racing prep guide specifically references the non-1LE SS. This is why I'm surprised it was not included in the paperwork when I bought the car.
