So why would I believe that they do not know this and you would?

The reason this matters to me, is because I want to put the borla attak w/NPP on my car and our emissions laws here are strict. The inspection starts with a visual inspection first and they don’t play.

If cats come on the particular model and are removed it won’t pass. This is outside of the CARB emissions standard as we are not a participating state. The only thing our state law says is if it(emissions equipment) came on the vehicle it must be there when inspected in order to pass.

I also have over twenty years of experience as a technician and am currently finishing an engineering degree. I understand how all this works. With that being said I also know how fast technology and standards change.

This could be a situation in which this setup is vehicle specific. This would mean that the cars delivered to CARB states get the 4 cat system and the ones that don’t get the two cat system. All I know is that I have personally seen resonators with different internal designs as well as cats(remember the beads style).

I just want to know what’s on my car.

It’s been a long time since I have seen cats that were welded to the system and not serviceable. And I find it hard to believe that a reputable company like Borla would advocate removing federal emissions equipment.

Furthermore I don't remove emissions equipment because I have not seen any real gains from doing so. I am also not trying to squeeze another tenth of a second outta my 1/4 mile time at the strip either. If these are somehow described as resonators and registered that way I don’t mind removing them.

Spoke with a Borla tech rep and he says they are cats. I also learned that the NPP system does not remove any of the cats and is not a complete cat back system. So I will probably go with that setup.

So, you're unwilling to listen to any of us, but you're willing to trust a for-profit aftermarket company with no proof? That's quite the 180° from your earlier stance.

Different counties have different emissions and inspection standards.

I never said I believe anything. Just passing along what they said just like I did in a previous post about what GM said

People get on forums all the time trolling and pretending to know what they are talking about i.e. see https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=556536 for a clear example of this

It’s always wise to verify information no matter the source.

The school I went too is not important.

I would like to learn more about the logic behind the setup.

As far as what I intend to do see post #18.
