Fortunately for him, the salesmanager was off today or he would have gotten an a&& chewing. I mentioned that the camaro enthusiast on Camaro5 with no vested (monetary) interest where much more helpful, and that if they couldn't get off their backsides I would take my buyers check and head down the road. Sales lady threw in the exhaust install and a car cover for free. Thats what they offered to chill me out...I didn't ask for any of it but I damn sure won't tell them no.. Tommorow I am going back when the sales manager is there (as they told me to do) and getting in his backside. The new senior sales manager was very apologetic for the dealership but couldn't say anything for the guy that was off. I haven't recieved any updates from them for 6 weeks. The SM apparently told my sales rep that he was communicating with me almost daily. Thank Goodness for you guys and Camaro5.

My sales person told me that if I wanted, we could go to the railyard in San Antonio as soon as the car shows up there and pick it up and I could drive it back to Austin to the dealership. That would certainly be cool and I am going to take her up on it. I pick the gas to go in it and no-one else gets in it to hot rod it around the dealership lot.

One more thing, about the trains, I was told that a few weeks ago they had a rail car number and they called for an updated location. It was supposed to be in Illinois at the time but the car was sitting in the dealership lot... They were looking at it, but the customer said he had trouble getting updates for it so they tried it while they were looking at the car... on their lot.... and were told it was in Ill. Maybe our cars are closer than we think...

I take it that means you will get to put some miles on it before your off to Brazil for your next hitch?

My dealer is totally clueless, I have to do all my own updating on rail status.
I showed my dealer the camarotracking site a few days ago...

As far as the railcar located in IL when the car was on the lot... maybe he had the wrong railcar #....

Your dealer has the GM WorkBench...he should not only have this info, but updating you regularly...My salesman at Lonestar Chevy has been awesome with weekly updates.

Update... Hey, I remember something about squeaky wheels... I just got a call from the aforementioned salesmanager who is off today...and he is "very apologetic" about dropping the ball on info updates. Something about a spamfilter... whatever... anyway, he said they checked the rail delivery and my car is scheduled to by in Kirby Texas @ the railyard unloading facility tomorrow. He was going to call and find out if there was someway to get it to Austin quicker, and I told him what my sales rep said about driving me to the railyard and me driving it back to the dealer. He will call me in about 30 minutes with an update.

I may be getting mine tomorrow... Wooo Hoooo...

depending on the dealer, some arent as friendly as others and just are looking for a sale. they dont care about the tracking b/c they know it will be in when its in and then they will sell it and earn commision then. some only care when it arrives at the dealer, cuz at that time its money time

TRUE!!!

I don't expect my dealer to give any updates b/c he's giving me GMS pricing and $500/for the 60-day opt out plus I got my own financing--he can kick back and enjoy the sale!

socalicrusin,

I think that was my mistake. I paid most of it in early September, and after that he didn't really bother because he knew he had the sale. I should have waited to pay:iono

yeah well-we got camaro5!!! This experience has been a lot smoother than just being in the dark for 4+ months...and mostly everyone on here is so helpful and informative! People here know more than my dealer even though he's been so easy going to work with thus far!

My ETA is still 11/6 to Industry, CA - it's halfway through Wyoming now so it might still make it on time. I'm still doubtful I will get it at my dealer before Tuesday though...
