The model S is officially 10 years old now and I am not seeing a bunch of model S battery pack failures at the ten year mark. Same thing with hybrid car battery packs. They do not just fall over and die @ 10 years. Now I will say I have seen my fair share of 15+ year old hybrid battery packs needing refreshing which I personally don’t think is too terrible of a lifespan and can get refreshed at local shops in the 2k range.

I do agree with what you said about companies doing this for profit and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if electric cars are more profitable to make than gas cars.
They will almost certainly lose range and ability to hold a charge over time. Just like a laptop or phone battery... when you first use it, you can run your phone for days w/o charging, but a couple years later... it'll barely hold a charge for a full day. And, yes, I hate getting new phones so I do actually keep my phones for 3 to 4 years

I'm just saying they are teasing all these supposed great things but get ready to bend over once we get to the point of no return, and the EV market is in full steam.

I'm not as opposed to EVs as I am the gimmicks that will come with. I do think EVs are boring and I certainly don't want one.

Gonna need to start marketing headers and aftermarket exhaust for those generators now.

I wonder how these batteries will work in a North Dakota winter when it’s 20-30 below zero. I would think the range and battery life will be greatly reduced.

The people pushing EVs couldn't give two shits about people in ND. They largely aren't "their people".

Very true! We have plenty of oil, we just need a State owned refinery to process it for us lowly North Dakotans

Exactly!! Just like that huge 100 something car backup on the interstate last winter in the snow. All the EVs failed that were stuck. When they turned the on for heat the batteries drained. When they turned the car off for long periods to save the battery they would not turn back on because the cold killed the batteries! Fact. Those in gas cars were just fine. Look at Texas...the effing Chinese made windmills froze in the cold and that area running on solar was blacked out. No sun and wind left them powerless! Serves those fools right for falling for that AOC Bartender New Green Deal Bullsh!t.

Yep the gas tax will end and be replaced with new higher Electric Tax.

I currently prefer hybrid to all electric, but recognize the approaching tide of EVs. I'd like to keep my Camaro for a long time, but also recognize that there are cool EV developments on the horizon, like 4WD Equinox EV. That could be a nice supplement to my Camaro.

Loved the styling of the ELR

I already hate the 5 minutes it takes to get gas when I am leaving work and want to get home. I can’t imagine having to wait 15+ minutes to drive home.
Great points

You guys declining, just keep in mind that when everything shifts towards EVs, and you're forced to listen to "engine noises" that sound like they're "K-Pop" inspired, your lack of participation will be the reason. Hell, I'd use this as an opportunity to let GM hear my thoughts. There are EVs out now that make stupid engine noises to try and immitate the gurgle of a V8. The Audi Etron makes some goofy noises. Personally, I want my vehicle to make NO noises if that's an option (outward noise to warn pedestrians is fine, but I don't want to hear anything in the cabin). But, something tells me that with so many people shunning their opinions out of protest, we're going to get some really poorly conceived ideas. Oh well, I guess I might have to start listening to K-Pop to get my stomach used to the future....
