Idle woes

Hey all,

I’ve recently had a cam (see sig) installed on my 2011 camaro ss. I noticed the car was consuming an abnormal amount of gas as well as just having overall poor idle quality at points.

Unfortunately I tried to do the best I could but had to resort to a scanner that had a live feature at a local O’reileys. Below are the videos I took to show how it went.

I am ordering spark plugs and spark plug wires as I’m typing this to hopefully resolve the issue. However, I am suspecting this may be a tune issue. Any advice would be great.

Thank you

Yep, she sounds like it needs a good tune to get all the fuel trims spot on..

It was street tuned with hp tuners. I’m inexperienced when it comes to tunes but I believe he data logged it and adjusted it as needed while we were driving around.

Street tuning without a wideband o2 isn’t easy and I’m not sure I would trust a tune if they didn’t use one.

Make sure you have no vacuum leaks. Then talk to Ted Jannetty at Jannetty racing and he can remote tune you.

How exactly should I go about that if you had an idea? I also do not have a handheld tuner, with prices around here it's smarter to just go with a dyno tune rather than doing a remote tune I feel like.

So did he street tune on dyno tune?

And I know a dyno tune should include street tuning.

It was just a street tune, I am going to reach back out to him once I get wires and plugs installed and see if he can set it right. If not I will be getting a dyno tune at another local shop.
