I've used PP for thousands of transactions with very few issues. I have received one chargeback, but that can happen with any CC processor.

If you have a business, you need PP or you lose sales, simple as that.

We don’t even have credit card processing any more.

Used PayPal since there beginning never had a problem. Signature required and package insurance cheep protection.

I had a 'problem' with paypal and would never use them again. There's no higher appeals process once they've made their decision.

I linked PayPay to an account at my bank I keep $0.00 in. If I make a purchase with PayPal, I log into my bank account and I transfer money from my main account into that account. That way if PapPal every tried to do something or someone hacked my PayPal account they would get nothing.
