Wind Noise Fixes - Mirrors and Pillars

After spending a lot of time making my '23 SS quiet (see link in sig), the wind noise from the A-pillar area needs to be fixed. I expect it is turbulence from the mirror housing and the edges at the triangular shaped area next to the mirror, in front of the window. Other threads have pointed to this area as well. I did search for this, and it's been a while since the conversation has been had and little resolution has been presented previously. Most of the threads ended with "GM said deal with it".

My window does index properly and does seal well. I will also experiment with window seal solutions, but treating turbulence noise at the source is also needed.

I'm going to start with experimenting with air diffusors and winglets and will report back when I find an adequate fix. If anyone has added parts to control wind noise, please share it here.

I'm starting with this kit: https://www.amazon.com/cueclue-Resis.../dp/B0BQHM8QYG

I can start taping over areas to help drive the areas of focus, and others have noted that taping will resolve noise, but that isn't a permanent fix.

I've played around with this issue in the past weeks.

I ordered 3/8" silicone tubing to fill the gap in the weatherstipping. It fit well and looked good but it was too thick and didn't let the window into the pocket, so it just made the problem worse and was removed after the first test drive.

With the battery disconnected, the window logic will reset, so when you reconnect you will be prompted to cycle the windows. I've done this a few times and it's better but not perfect. I still think the window is 1/8" lower than it should be on the driver's side.

Adding the winglet kit is next.

C4 corvettes used a rear view mirror deflector to help with this.

I figured out what is happening, and I'll have a pretty easy fix for it. Simply put, a weather seal is folded in, which I will document with photos soon.

This seal was folded over on itself, and that was causing the noise leak. You can see how creased it is.

I had to hold it back with enough pressure to let it correct itself as the window went back up. Now for some summer sun to soften the rubber so it regains it's original shape.

You can also see some of the added aero deflectors to quiet down wind noise at the side mirrors. I'll share some more pics of those, not totally sold on the aesthetics of the one on the mirror, as it's level with the ground not the angle of the mirror.
