This is why I'll be buying out of state

California dealers, especially those in the Bay Area suck. I've had my ear to the ground here to see if I can land a zl1 locally, but this is so typical of pretty much every listing that arrives here:

5k adm. LOL. **** that. Sadly, someone will negotiate the adm down to like 3k, feel like they got a great deal and buy it.

Oh well, there's no real point to this, I just wanted to vent.

That's what happens when you live in an area with much higher salaries than other areas of the country. Cars are one of the few things that aren't price adjusted for the area you live in.

In southern Oregon, we have a problem of the CA people coming up here and buying cars from our lots...that's great and all, but, us Oregon people cant compete with the CA money lol. Oregon has no sales tax, but I am pretty sure CA guys have to pay it when registering it in CA...

Order from Backy D @ Rodgers Chevrolet and bypass the BS dealerships.

Just a guess, but probably all of Becky's allotments are spoken for already....

California has a ton of dealerships, as I'm sure you know....There will be some that don't go ADM...just keep looking....good luck. Even buying out of state won't save you any money.....you'll still pay the same sales tax, etc., and perhaps more of a hassle with DMV...

Shop California first, unless Becky can help you....good luck again...

I always recommend Becky at Rodgers Chevy whenever I can because even if she doesn't have one, she can usually find one somewhere in the country.

That is generally true, but California is particularly awful. For instance, South Florida's cost of leaving and salaries are among the tops in the country and some of the cheapest dealers are in South Florida. In fact, a multitude of out-of-state owners on this forum purchase and ship from South Florida. Some dealers know they can push metal at a higher rate in those markets. How Becky does it is just an act of God... lol

I'm in the Sacramento area and had to call 8 different Chevy dealers...2 of them agreed to accept Supplier Pricing plus any additional incentives. Most had mark ups and one even literally laughed at me when I asked about the ZL1!!

Yeah, there are other markets like that in NY, Florida and Illinois, but California as a state is off the charts. I watched my brother move out there. Both him and his wife had good jobs in the midwest and had decent salary increases by moving, but expenses like housing eat that up. I will take my simple life in the northern Atlanta burbs with cheap land and houses

Thanks. Yeah, I bought my vette out of state so I am familiar with what a pain it is. There's really not much thought that needs to go into it though. If I can find one that saves me $8-10k vs. buying it here, I'll fly and drive it home and still come out ahead.

Like I said, I was just venting to you guys because my non-car people friends don't understand these first world problems.
