That would be "push rods" not "connecting rods" that were added.

Did you replace the O-ring on the pick up tube and did the pickup tube flange fit back flush with the oil pump when you bolted it up?

Using the old O-ring or the pickup tube flange not mating up to the pump could cause it to loose oil flow. That's why I asked.

No but I do have more info, rag was left in the oil pan, clogged the pump filter. He was honest and said one of his guys left it in there. He could've hid it and told me he has no idea what happened, told all his mechanics to get back so they didn't touch anything before he could look at it. It's a huge mistake and I am really upset that it happened but if your gonna take responsibility and be honest I can respect that. He said it spun a connecting rod bearing from what he can tell. Machine shop guy looking at the whole motor today.

Wow. At least he was honest and told you about the rag. Most shops around here in Houston would have just said it spun a bearing and left all on the customer to pay. With him being honest it will be all on him. Maybe you could talk to him about some free upgrades while he is in there for all the headaches.

Just wow.I know that sucks. You do have to give him credit for being honest. Finding a honest mechanic now days is rare and he did do what is right. Now that you know what damage was done I feel like he will repair it right and you will be up and running soon. Good luck

I know the shop owner well and he is a very honest, straight up, great guy.
Mistakes happen, we've all done it. It restores your faith in humanity when you hear people own theirs. He'll make it right, it'll be better than ever !!

That sucks, but could be worse. Glad he was honest about it, you'll be up and going in no time.
