I don't recall reading about anyone else that has spun a main bearing ?
Doesn't mean it didn't or that you can't, but I don't think it's all that common in our LSA? |

It's not common, but certainly not that unusual on highly modded cars. You see it more with the V guys simply because they mod more and the car has been around longer. Normally it starts with lower than normal oil pressure and gets worse from there. The fact that his motor seized up points to a catastrophic failure, but the only way to know is to tear down it for inspection.

The biggies in the V's are:
1) Loss of oil pressure - BOOM 2) Clogged cats, overheats engine - BOOM 3) Lean tune #7, #8 failure - BOOM (personally happened to me) 4) Not upgrading the trunions with cam install - potential BOOM |

Motor will be out by Tuesday and I'll have a better update, tuner said you can't see oil pressure from the logs but that it wasn't low |

That's what I didn't understand but he said it didn't. He said there was 0 knock. I asked him to email the log he said he would cause he has nothing to hide and that you wouldn't be able to tell anything from the log |

Could be possibly a spun rod bearing rather than a main since from what I read in the 1st post, he had new rods installed?
Always suspect the things that have changed. |
