Storing a new C7 for 5 months......
I asked on another forum, but....... It did not go well.
I purchased a 2014 Vette. Black M7 1LT. I will be storing it until May-June and I do not want the tires to flat spot or crack. So in looking I found these flatstoppers that work to help stop flat spotting and also insulate the tire from the concrete. Here is the video that I found them on. Anyone else use them? |

I checked them out and they look good but for $250 why not jack the car and support ... That is if you have a low jack available?

I've been told if you jack the car up for long periods of time that it can affect the shocks. Not sure if that's true for modern cars or not.

Just a suggestion for consideration. I would be willing to let you store your Corvette at my home in sunny, warm South Florida for the winter. I can guarantee you no snow or ice will fall on your baby and you have absolutely no fear of any road salt damage occurring while I take her for the occasional spin. Just to keep all of the rolling parts lubricated and to keep the tires from flat spotting of course! And since you are a member of the C7 Forum, there will be no fees or storage charges for the duration. Please let me know when you might be delivering the car. Stay warm up there!

We have a restorer of classic cars nearby who also stores many of his client's cars (including quite of few of Michael Jordan's cars). He does three things: Full tank of gas, remove battery and place on a float charger (you can leave it in the car if you like on a float charger) and inflate tires to 60 psi to minimize flat spotting. I have done the same with my ZR-1s for many years and it works fine. Just don't forget to set the tire pressures correctly before driving again. The National Corvette Museum sells a great float charger and buying from them supports a great institution. --Bob

I bought these to store my 2014 Z51. Very affordable, had them in a couple days. Light weight, non-slip, drive right up and done! This seems like a very small price to pay for a little tire insurance!
