So I had a little time on my hands while going through emails and still a little pissed about the unforeseen price increase. So if the 2014 Corvette model year has a possible production of 30,000 units and they have built approx. 16,000 units before the price increase, that leaves approx. 14,000 units till years end. 14,000 X $2,000.00 = $28,000,000.00. I know, I had to do the math twice to make sure I was doing it right. Then you take 75% of the 14,000 units gives you 10,500 units. The Z51 option is being ordered on approx. 75% of 2014 Corvettes. 10,500 x $1,200.00 = $12,600,000.00 for a combined total of $40,600,000.00. So how many you you still believe the increase is solely based "to reduce demand"? Remember that there is NOTHING being added to the 2014 model other than the price increase, this is just a pure profit increase. I am really going to need some heavy duty lube for this one. I wonder if they can do a Colonoscopy while they are in there? I have to try to save some money somewhere.

Wow, she looks really good. Best of luck with her. No excuse to not go on the National Caravan to the Museum in August now.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray Is So Popular, It's Getting a Price Increase
By Adam Levine-Weinberg | March 9, 2014 (Article from Motley Fool) The first two months of 2014 were not kind to U.S. automakers -- and especially not General Motors (NYSE: GM ) . GM's sales are down 6% this year, as unusually severe winter weather has kept many people away from auto dealerships. Lower incentives on GM's new trucks have also contributed to weaker sales totals. |

The dealer will be charged for the price increase then credited for that amount whether you pay the price increase or not. In other words: negotiable.
This is true if the order was in before March 3 and gets accepted for production before the end of the model year. You paying the pre-increase price is NOT automatic. It should be, it could be, but it is not. Better to go into this informed than blind sided. Laborsmith |

That puts you in a precarious position. My dealership told me that my price would be honored for my order that was placed before the increase. They also said that constraints could preclude their remaining allocations being accepted for my order and I could find myself pushed to 2015. I didn't like the unknown and was fortunate enough to find a car in their showroom that I was more than content with.
