Cruised through in my '11 IBM R/S. Two salesmen were chillin' on a golf cart next to a row of 15 new Camaros. Victory Red, Rally Yellow, Black, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White. Three of each. They waved at me and I rolled my window down and said "No blues?"

One of them scowled and the other one said "No. We wish. Want to sell yours?" I got a kick out of this! They told me they have people daily coming in requesting blue and there isn't anything they can do about it.

Does anyone know the blue situation for the '12s? I know at one point they were doing a limited run of being able to order IBM -- 300 or so of them-- but a few dealers here have told me blue isn't an option at the moment. What's the scoop? Anyone seen a blue '12?

I think it is due to the Japan earthquake!! I remember hearing the factory in Japan was one that made the material for the paint!!

^^Yeah we knew it was on constraint but supposedly that constraint was over from what we were told. That's why I can't figure out why you can't get a blue Camaro right now. (or at least that's what I've had like a half-dozen dealers here tell me)

They collected minerals and processed them at a plant in Fukushima Prefecture in Japan which was destroyed by the Earthquake and Tsunami. One of the minerals/colors the gathered went into Imperial Blue, another was Cyber Grey.

Imperial Blue is back in Limited availibility for October. Then it should be back on the production list.

Yeah, not having a blue at all would just be such a fail. I'll be interested to see if they actually do bring it back or if there is another issue.

The IBM is limited only. As well as the new carbon metallic is for the 45 th editions. The new red is out. A new crystal red and all the other common colors r still available. I looked at upgrading to a 2012 but couldnt part w CGM.

The first production week of IBM is today (10/3), so there won't be any blue ones on the lots for a couple more weeks.

Seems funny to me that Ford, Dodge, Toyota, even Nissan all have blue vehicles on their lots but not GM ! Come on some one at GM has dropped the ball !

Yeah what happened to the possibility of Dusk Blue, a la Jim Carrey's Camaro? I don't get what's going on but I know the dealers are frustrated-- especially mine. They told me since they sold mine they've had at least a dozen people come in requesting blue, but they said they haven't even been able to order them.

What is the deal with GM and the color blue????? The excuse that they dont sell well is NOT a legitimate excuse not to offer the color. Considering I had 11 thumbs up on their facebook page for my blue Camaro. And I had 2 people in that same post say they would have bought the color if it were available. Im glad my car is rare but in MY humble opinion since Jet Stream blue is no longer on the Corvette they should add it to the Camaro lineup of colors. It's NO excuse what so ever when Dodge, Ford, Nissan, Honda and every other automotive brand has different shades of blue in spades that can cause some people to not buy a car over the color if its not available.
