I live in Oregon where it rains every day, almost, and I have never wished I had a rear window wiper. Not sure why they are on any car or suv. If my window was so dirty I couldn't see out of it, I'd think it was time to wash the vehicle. Kind of like wipers on head lights.

I think the OP might have been pulling our chain to see everybodys reaction...LOL
Maybe GM should have made roof rails too so we can drive around with those stupid looking suitcases on top too

Had rear wipers on both of my Chevy Blazers ...barely used them. They looked terrible on the early 3rd generation Camaros. It would look a lot worse on the 5th generation.

I don't even use the front one, let alone a rear one. (Car sees no precip).

Seriously though, just use Rain-X. I used to drive without the wipers running in my '91, just Rain-X if I was on the highway. |

A rear wiper on a Camaro is sacrilegious to me!
But putting that aside, I've wondered before why they are offered (or standard) on some vehicles but not others. Have the car companies determined that certain environmental factors require it and others do not (perhaps such as the angle of the rear glass)? Or are they market factors (SUV buyers want them, sports car buyers don't)? I'd be curious to know.
