Correctamundo Radz!!!....,fuel economy ratings, gas guzzler tax and all that fun filled stuff, it's a minor inconvenience to make Big Brother happy until we pull away from the lot...,then...heh-heh,

I taste sarcasm.

I can promise you, no one will be passing me at 5 or more under the speed limit or ever have occasion to call me "fossil." I see that when passing Mus-takes all too often.

As my best friend Rufus says, "Drive it or park it & put a house number on it."

Please don't take offense to what I'm about to say - but this poll is worthless because it does not change the law.

Want to make a change?

Each person on this site needs to write to every one of their 'elected officials' and tell them to repeal the CAFE law and to pass a comprehensive energy policy.

CAFE is what is forcing the skip-shift.

I'm a little surprised at all the energy spent on discussing CAGS on the ZL1.

As many have stated, the ZL1 will almost certainly be equipped with CAGS, but, all things considered, I think it's a minor issue since it's very easy to drive around, and it's also very quick, easy, and inexpensive to bypass.

Not an issue for me, to be honest.
I've had my SS for 18 months now, and actually seen the skip indicator light up twice. That's it.

So no biggie.

If it would avoid the gas-guzzler tax, I wouldn't mind it at all. It's easily defeated with a $30 part, or a $2 part if you're handy, and that's easily removed and doesn't void the warranty. If however it doesn't avoid that tax, then there's no point to having skip-shift and they should leave it off.

There are multiple tiers to the GG tax though, in $300 or $400 intervals for the fuel economy numbers we're looking at for the ZL1. So even if it doesn't avoid the tax all together, it will still save people some cash.
