Exhaust help
I currently have american racing 1 7/8" long tube headers on my cammed 2SS. I want to get the Noweeds exhaust diverters but I was also looking at changing out the whole exhaust while I'm at it. Would going with the borla atak be too loud? not worth putting the diverters on at that point? With the stock exhaust and SLP loud mouth tips it's already pretty loud and choppy with the cam. I want the ability to play with the diverters and have a noticeable difference but also be able to close them up and not have to scream over the sound of the car inside. I understand it will be loud regardless due to the cam, etc. I also have a bit of drone as it is around 75-80mph, not sure if these add ons would make it worse or not.

I'm putting on the Corsa Extreme which is the only other louder than the atak imho. But even though it's going to be loud I am putting on electric cutouts so I can run open headers and have some fun.

I currently have Solo Performance from the LTs back. No mufflers and its loud. I personally love starting it when people are behind it and watch them almost pee themselves. Its funny lol.

Don't go too loud it will numb your brain on long rides. Take it from me a guy who cammed and straight piped his ride.

I have the Flowmaster 3" ZL1 Outlaw quad catback and man it is pretty loud too with the big cam!! I installed the QTP low profile cutouts and man when you open them up it makes a BIG difference in the loudness and badassery!! Sounds like a prostock car. lol. But when you close them back up and go into "normal" loudness it is quite a difference, but as others, I have drone at 70-75mph depending on the rpm's I'm turning.

Well if you don’t have any mufflers now I don’t think either the borla or Corsa will make more noise so I’d go with the cutouts. The Corsa will definitely help with the drone, not positive on the borla, and I don’t think cutouts with change the drone with your current exhaust

Speed engineering headers are fairly affordable. I wouldn't waste my time with shorty headers. If you are doing it anyway just get the better option.

So you're saying adding mufflers can make a car louder than without mufflers?
