I shut the generator off and went to bed around 11 last night. When I got up at 4 (had to wake hubby up since I had my cell phone alarm set) I noticed the neighbors who don't have a generator had lights on! So I switched everything back over, have power at the moment, but am leaving the generator set up just in case. Sitting on the back porch waiting for the dogs to do their thing, I heard trees cracking all around me. It's supposed to warm up today, so the weather service has already issued flood watches Luckily, we're on a hill!
There was an article in the LA Times the other day calling us "Snow Wimps" - this was before the ice storm rolled in. It kind of pissed me off... This weather would be considered nasty wherever it was, but add in the hills in Seattle, it was truly disastrous. That reporter has no class.
It's Friday! I think I'm going to be able to work today, will have a lot of catching up to do after being closed yesterday, so it's gonna feel like a Monday. Ugh.

OMG. Can western WA catch a break?!?! Now they're forecasting a WINDSTORM!!! 35-50mph winds through tomorrow! Any trees already weakened by the ice will be gone...

Nice pic. My Friday pic will have to be delayed. I just spent 2 hours in the Jacuzzi in our condo after the 4 1/2 hr drive to the Smookey Mountains. I am sooooooooo relaxed right now. Later guys & gals.

Wow, it was really rainy here this morning, but thank goodness no snow or ice. Pretty warm actually, had thunder and lightning! Got to clean out the fridge and garage.......not exciting, but nice to have it done! Getting ready for next weekend's meet with the Atlanta C5 group at a local speed shop. May get my first dyno! What the hey!

Looks like rain here all week :( But that is okay. I brought paints & a canvas I need to finish and my beading stuff. I need to make a couple of necklace & earing sets. I also brought stuff to work out & there is a small gym and indoor pool. Mike will watch football all day tomorrow anyway. Ane of course plenty of wine, beer, rum......... and a big jacuzzi in the condo. I think we will be okay.

Hi everybody. We're back. Dunno for how long. The wind is already starting to howl. Up here on the plateau we usually get the worst of wind storms. Lots of damage from the ice. Worst I've ever witnessed personally, and that includes my time in Michigan. Trees down everywhere you look. We lost about half of ours. Power has been out for several days. We also lost phone and even cell service went down. Thank God we didn't have a medical emergency or a fire. Now bracing for round three. Got everything that needs recharging plugged in. All the wood that we could scrounge stockpiled. Now we wait. Got some pictures to post, just don't have time right now. Speculation that the fourth horseman will arrive later this week in the form of floods. That'll be more a problem for the lowlanders, but we do work down there. I'll post as time permits. Now there's more work to be done...

Hey Gary! Glad you're doing OK! I sent a message to Maggie on Facebook offering our guest room if your power is out (we have a generator, so even if ours goes out, too, it's still a good offer) - let me know if you need a warm place to crash!
