I mean low compared to the HP. I'm used to LS engines where the figures are always close or the same. I would have thought it would be higher. I know they're completely different engine types.

The powerband is why. This is a high winding engine. They traded torque for HP further up in the powerband and as a result this means torque is lower compared to the HP. Think of it like this, the TQ is essentially the same as the 5.0L Coyote. I'm sure someone can explain it better and more technically accurate.

More cubic inches account for more torque.

The 5.0 makes 400 lb ft torque. If you scale that up to 5.2 liters, it's 416 lb ft. The 5.2 has a higher compression ratio, along with other changes, actually increases the torque slightly.

Just did this mock up using GM's engine dyno chart and the Voodoo dyno chart that someone took a picture of. Numbers aren't perfect and are an estimate in some areas but should be pretty close.

While the initial numbers of the Voodoo look pretty good, it's the area under the curve that tell the whole story and it looks like the LS7 is a much more stout engine with the power. A lot less spiky and more predictable too..

True, but on the track, ability to hold 3rd and 4th gear to over 8000 rpm will be huge. On the street it's a toss-up. Really depends on the GT350's weight which is still unknown at present.

My guess is the Z/28 will hold its own against the GT350, but the GT350R will be the fastest.

The LS7 thumps the Voodoo from idle to 6,500 rpm.
