ZL1 fuel pump on n/a SS

So my stock fuel pump bit the dust today and I'm looking to replace it. I was pricing a new one today and noticed that the ZL1 pump isn't that much more expensive. Are there any drawbacks/benefits to running the ZL1 pump in the SS? I noticed a lot of people ran it in their SS, but mainly after going with a forced induction setup. I don't have many mods currently and will remain n/a for a couple of more years. With that said, is it even worth upgrading the fuel pump? I do plan on a cam within the next year or so. I'm ok with sticking to the stock pump, but was just curious of options since I was going to be going through the trouble of replacing the pump anyway. 2011 Camaro SS L99, Specs are in sig. Thanks

Unless you use a ZL1 Fuel Pump Control Module you won't notice anything it'll operate as a SS pump, once you add the ZL1 FPCM then you'll notice a difference with different injectors.

long term goals? short term...do it! per above until FPM runs like stock but WTF...when/if(and you will!) step up N/A the hard part is done.

and lookup how to cut (CAREFULLY) thru the sheet metal under the rear seat right above where the access port is located...unless you WANT to drop the rear cradle(LULZ)...

lots of peeps on here sell them for cheap...new is like $214 or $241 is(damn dyslexia!) any way for me it would be a no brainer...good luck OP....peace.

You need a FPCM to make it work.

I would upgrade to the ZL1 it’s all pretty much plug and play. I wouldn’t want to be dropping the fuel tank more than once, (trust me been there done that!) Good Luck.

As others have stated, the ZL1 pump is a direct plug n play drop in so zero modifications are needed. It will work just fine for all but the most insane n/a builds and even be good for mild FI if you ever decide to go that route

There is a way to cut the right area out under the passengers seat in back over the area of the floor pan to make a square patch panel cover the area with some caulk/rtv and not drop the tank BTW. It was a DIY post so maybe you can find it there, good luck.
