20112SS/RS. Fog light has no switch
I picked up a new 2011 and I took delivery and was in shock and awe hours in the garage checking things out. I noticed that my camaro has fog lights but there is no switch for them. I was reading the sticker and noticed that because of daytime running lights it states fog light delete.
What the hell does that mean besides the obvious. I have fogs in the car but can't turn then on? Is there a way to get them working? This is my first post and I hate asking questions on 1st post because I can't figure out how to post pic of my new ride. To top it off it's just sitting in the garage until the snow melts in the road to my house. Any insight would be appreciated. |

you don't have fog lights. You have Daytime Running Lights. If you had bought a non-RS camaro, then you would have fog lights.

So what the purpose do the lights where the cut out serve if I can't even turn them on? Damn I thought I had fog lights

Ya, RS Camaro's come with DRLs and like Stieger said they turn on automatically and you could get a DRL Harness and they will always be on.

Are the actual bulbs different between the DRL's and fog lights? I'd rather have DRL delete than fog light delete. And before all the people scream "but it's a safety thing" well you can always drive with your headlights on with DRL delete. But you can't drive in the fog and see the fog line better on the road with fog light delete.

You can turn off your fog lights during the day just flick the knob to the left. In a dense fog your fog lights aren't as good as your HIDs that come with the RS package.

I like to ride with my halos on at dusk until it gets too dark. Looks way better than foglights.

Fog lights light up the areas low and to the sides of the car. I have a 1SS so no HID's, but my old car had HID's and fogs and fogs helped a lot in fog. What is it about the Camaro HID's that makes them better than fogs? (honest question not arguing).

He's talking about the visibility that you get from HID's are better than foglights. It's comparing apples to oranges because both lights have two totally different functions, but he was talking about visibility.

Like someone else said, could just get a harness and allow them to come on whenever you want
