You don't have to drill holes for the gm license plate holder. It is held on with clips that attach to the area it's installed. Looks way better than any aftermarket solution I've seen.

^^^ There you go... I take back my drill the hole statement.

But definitely stand by if you're going to put it on do it like GM intended.

Anything else looks like crap... even if you can remove it.

Have you actually tried the Sto'n'Sho? The holder bracket is literally invisible unless you get down on your back under the car, the plate is centered as it's meant to be, and as an added bonus it serves as cheap splitter scrape prevention No messing up the grille and it blocks airflow less even with the plate in place.

Another vote for the Sto-n-Sho. I only sometimes run with the plate when I'm on the highway. The State cops seem to care more about it than the locals. It's usually in the trunk.

Loads of food for thought. I haven't even looked at the stock GM provided as I don't have the new plates yet. Just liked the idea of it being off the bumper with the tow hook location.

And another. The plate looks great in the trunk (lol) and you can not see the bracket. Takes more time to go get the plate than to install it.

As for front plates, I also don't understand all the drama. Just put it on and drive the car. You can't see the front plate when you're driving the car.
Agreed, I do miss the tow hook fro its intended purpose, but even though I used that for my plate on my 2016 SS I did not like it. StownSho is a great plan. But not on a ZL1. The splitter is just too low. I went through 2 of the StownShows then moved back to the tow hook spot. StowNSho works great on all Camaros with no front splitter like my spoilerless LT1.

I am planning to pull the bumper cover on my LT1 to get the Velossa Tech scoop sorted. I will look for a spot where we can install a hook. With the 5th gens we did that.

I installed a splitter on my SS and have no issues with the Sto-N-Sho

Ditto...I have a front splitter and the Sto-N-Sho Mount works great. I think I ordered the version designed for use with the splitter.

i believe this is incorrect. i installed the SS bumper on my LT1 and i can perfectly see exactly where a tow hook would be installed. It is in the same spot as the SS..

So just to follow up on this… the tow hook receiver IS installed on the LT1 crash bar and could possibly be accessed? The reason I’m asking is that I’d consider drilling an access hole in the bumper and moving my plate over it.

I like the idea of having a real tow hook as opposed to installing chains or straps with hooks to the weak under body steel.
