Yeah me too. Just can’t get the hang of it since I have been driving manuals 40 years!

WHOOA!!!! This feature is AWESOME!!! Took a bit to un-train myself to not lift but WOW. Exhilarating is all I can say for now. Gotta get to the track now! Scared the crap out of my buddy in the passenger seat.

Edit: Didn't feel abusive or jerky on the driveline when done right.
Yup... it becomes natural at WOT to just do it. You get used to it pretty quickly.

Even on short runs with one shift I use it.

It took a bit to train myself to not lift, but turns out to be one of my favorite hidden little tricks of the car. I don't use it much on the street, but damn if it isn't fun as hell on the track. Super smooth once I learned not to grit my teeth and yank the shifter like my old school "power shift" days. For those who haven't tried, nearly every shift on this lap is a no lift shift as indicated by the green throttle bars on top right.

I still have yet to try this feature. So looking at the HUD dots, at what point do you shift? So I assume the red dots are at red line then shift?

the dots turn red before redline, somewhere around 6k I think. I'm usually too focused on the road but they definitely turn red before 6500. I believe the nls is activated at 5k rpms, i saw a thread in the ask al section about it, not sure of its still there

I just noticed something interesting on the chart Al posted some time back about the enabling and target RPM's of the NLS feature.

It shows the enabling RPM at 5000 and the target RPM at 5200.

Is he implying that the optimum RPM to shift at is 5200?

I have always shifted at 6K thinking that is very close to the sweet spot for max HP? Am I wrong?

I had to read it a few times (and check my video) and the 5200 rpm is the revs the engine drops to when you have the clutch in and throttle pinned. NLS is not enabled until 5k, and optimum shift point is debatable but I have found that very close to redline seems to work well for me as that puts the 5200 rpm the engine has dropped to being pretty close to the next gear's actual speed, making the shift nice and silky smoove.

I have found that the car is still pulling hard in the high 5s so I shift right under 6k. Looking at my car's dyno chart the HP levels off at about 5900 and that is where the torque curve begins to dip down. See image below with the orange line. I'm no racing expert but I think that shifting above 6k probably is too late and below 5.6k is too early for optimal acceleration times. Note: This is on 91 octane pump and only a Soler Performance TB mod.

I haven’t run the numbers to calculate the optimal shift point, but torque to the wheels is still probably higher running to 6500 in the lower gear vs short shifting, even with the high rpm drop off.
