Hello from Birmingham, AL...
Hello all! I am not new to this site, but did not realize this Introduction board existed. I have been on here for 2 years using your good feedback in helping determine if I was going to get another Ford Mustang, or go with the Chevy Camaro.
I have decided to go with a Camaro. My reasons may be shallow, but I am just in love with how the Camaro's look. I have been in a Ford Mustang GT for the past 6 years, and even though the style of the new Mustangs has changed a little, I still think they look too similar to what I already have. I am going to go with Camaro in January. (Most likely a Black 2SS/RS.) I think both cars have their advantages, but the Camaro just really grabs me. This is without a doubt the best place for honest and good info on Camaros, and I will be here for a long time. Thanks again for all the great info the members have supplied me with, and excusing some of the dumb questions I have asked. |

TungstenGT, WOW, ya certainly don't say much......2 years and only 24 posts? I joined the same month/year as you! lol regardless, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Welcome (2 yrs ago, it's retro-active!). Traded in wifes 2000 'stang for 2010 2SS. This is her dream car. I think your going to be extremely happy w/your decision. Did you have perma-grin w/the GT? I bet not like this!

I am certain that I will have that same feeling of love for my car that I had when I first bought my Mustang GT. I am really looking forward to it now that is is getting closer and closer. My only wavering is on the color. Originally, I wanted a black one...but I fear that it will take a lot of time to keep clean. My GT is Tungsten Gray and unless you are right up on it, it always looks clean. I may go with the dark gray Camaro, since it looks so amazing as well. Thank you to all who welcomed me! I really love this site, and appreciate how honest a lot of posters are on cars, (something that the Mustang and Challenger sites seem to lack.) Just a mild update. I went in to get a 2012 SS/RS/L99 Ashen Gray Camaro, and as I am sitting down discussing details...there is an IOM Camaro on the showroom floor. Don't ask me why, but that color just spoke to me and midway through him looking for an AGM, I told him to see if he can find what I want in the IOM. He did, (complete with interior upgrade package), and I picked it up two days ago. Perma-grin is an understatement. I have never been so excited/enthused about a car. I am loving everything about this car!!
My fears about visibility in the Camaro have been laid to rest. I set my mirrors correctly and have not had any trouble whatsoever. I am just in love with this car! |
