That has nothing to do with On-Star as far as I know.
That option is standard on my 2SS.

When i bought my 13 I got 6 months free since only 14's qualified for the free 5 years of the OnStar app. I signed up for the 3 yrs free deal mainly to get the app back.

No I know that I'm talking about the app that they have that lets you do it from your phone even when the car is no where near you

Well this is interesting...

I just bought a 2014 Camaro from a Chevy dealer with less than 5000 miles on it. The dealer set me up with the "free" trial version of OnStar for 3 months only.

The warranty on the car transferred over to me. So am I reading this correctly that the "basic" OnStar subscription will transfer to me for free for the first THREE years? I realize the three years started when the car was first sold, but dang that is still better than 3 free months.

I suppose i need to make a phone call to the good folks at OnStar and request the transfer. I'm not about to pay for a full subscription but having a free "basic" is better than none at all.

thanks!

Will the app allow a remote start with an M6?

Agreed. That's the only feature I use it for, the OnStar app with remote start.

I don't believe any manuals have remote start.

I just did it for my wife's Buick. She is thrilled she can have her remote start back.

Can you also unlock your car with the app... you know, just in case you lock your keys in the car, or lose them, or something?

That would be the only reason I might get the free setup.
