How did you do this without activating the OnStar? Or is the OnStar not even a part of it?

Don't know about the OnStar, I bought mine on 2/14 and I got an email to activate the myChevrolet app. It started working as soon as I downloaded the app. The car got to the dealer two days later though.

The process may have improved a bit, back in 2018 one had to ask the dealership to activate OnStar before the vehicle could be tracked in the app. I didn't bother, Becky's updates were enough and the dealership didn't play games either.
