Rim question need help - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I purchased a set of 21 inch black with silver lip Camaro rims. After going home I noticed all the tires were the 40 series tires. I checked the rims and they are all 21x8.5 I'm wondering if I'm suppose to have 2 that are 21x9.5 ?
If so would it still work if I ran those rims on the rear? Please advise thanks

It depends on which model you have. I believe the SS has 8s in the front and 9s in the back. The 40 series tires has nothing to do with the width (kinda lol); its the ratio of the height of the sidewall compared to the width of the tire. but unless you're putting your car on a track you'll be fine. the only problem you may have is the rear wheel will be a tad recessed in the rear at 8.5; it'll look stupid so you may need spacers in the rear. Just put them on and check to see how it looks in the rear, but again I'm almost certain it will need spacers. Lower it while you're at it
