No road was wet. I'm not stupid enough to turn them off on a wet surface.

People shouldn't go ahead and assume it's totaled from one picture. Yeah airbags went off but still, you never know

If the insurance doesn't total it...I'd be trading it in.

No way that car would ever be 100% or drive like it before the wreck.

Sucks it happened, but your walking away ok...and that's what counts.

At least your ok. Hope you take it as a learning experience the more water on the road the slower the speed and the lower the tread height in rain the lower the speed the wider the tire in the rain the lower the speed summer only performance tires in the rain the slower the speed. You start get 2-3-4 those piled up you can be 10-20 mph under the speed limit and still Hydro plane right out of control.
Quick link to article with info from study done by Bridgestone.

Edit:
Also new tar or tar that has not been rained on in while will tend to have a decent amount of oil on its surface and will be very slick during the first 1/8 inch of rain till its washed off.

Obvious frame damage, the whole right rear quarter and inner is trashed, trunk floor/ rear pan damage, probable suspension and rear axle damage, at least one tire and wheel, exhaust, upto 6 airbags, seatbelt tensioners, plastics, paint and miscellaneous parts.

Things are adding up quickly. It looks borderline, at minimum, and that's without seeing the rest of the car or whipping out the estimation software.

My mother in law lived in Lakeland for a while, and she used to tell me that they put glass in the roads so be careful when it rains. Is that true or was she just telling me that so I would slow down when we went to visit her????

Idk if they do that in Lakeland. It's a smaller town so they might. But in south Florida they don't do it
