GOBO/Door Courtesy lights NO Wiring

Finally have door courtesy/GOBO lights… with NO wiring or replacement batteries! I had first installed wired Oracle GOBO lights several yrs ago that lasted only two weeks before the lense loosened due to door closing vibration. I was mad as hell after all the effort to install the wiring for them.

FF… I came across these on Amazon which recently came out and are the ONLY ones that don’t require wiring or replacing batteries. They are powered by a usb rechargeable lithium battery.

I didn’t want them showing on the door panel so I widened the hole in the bottom of the door panel below the trunk release button that I had cut for the Oracle lights and used all weather Gorilla tape to attach them to the inside of the panel. There’s a gap there between the styrofoam insulation that’s just the size to fit the lights, although I did pack it with some soft foam to make it a tight fit so it wouldn’t move from opening & closing the door. I left the usb cable permanently attached and run thru a hole I drilled into the door storage pocket where it can be attached to a small power bank for recharging when needed. I’m very pleased with the brightness and clarity of the image which is even better than the picture shows.

UPDATE- the power bank couldn’t provide enough power to recharge them. The recharge only lasted a few minutes so I attached the usb cable to a charging block connected to a garage extension cord
